Lilaas AS was established as Lilaas Finmekaniske AS, in 1961 by Jan Lilaas. The company have 40 years of experience of manufacture precision mechanics for shipbuilders, on- and off-shore applications.
Many of the products are certified Det Norske Veritas, and Lilaas AS is certified under NS-EN ISO 9001-2000.
Lilaas is a well known supplier and Norway’s largest manufacturer of various types of control levers and joysticks, utilised all over the world. As a result of unique design, top-grade materials and thorough test procedures, we produce products of high quality that requires a minimum of service and maintenance.
The control units from Lilaas include levers, controlling mechanism and accompanying electronics. The products range from simple, one-axis control levers in different sizes, hand wheels, rudder controls, azimuth control units and multi-axis joysticks.
All units are delivered motorised on all axes and with several optional features. The products comply with stringent certification requirements. All kinds of vessels, from small fishing boats and ferries, via supply vessels to large tankers and cruise ships may be manoeuvred by control levers from Lilaas.
The manoeuvre system Azimuth Electronic Shaft System (AESS), developed by Lilaas, can be used in a wide range of applications with all our control levers. The control levers on different positions on the ship are connected via a well proven CAN (Controller Area Network) to simultaneous operation, with master and slave units. The system is reliable, including high redundancy bus. It is compact, flexible and ready for future extension. Simple cabling and electronic bus system gives several possibilities for integration and minor installation costs.
Lilaas manufacture precision mechanics to applications used over and under water, in hospitals/laboratories, in space, satellite, electronic and general industry.
Our factory use state-of-the-art CNC-controlled machine tools, with integrated CAD/CAM. For design and production we use Pro/Engineer and EdgeCam, and for materials requirement planning and production control the system Spektra.
Thanks to new developed technology we can produce prototypes and models of our and customer’s products. It may be finished prototypes or studies of prototypes, complete units, isolated details or parts for larger landscapes.
